The Embassy of Poland in Manila, in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine, and the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, organized a film screening of "Ludzie" (People) at Shangri-la Plaza Mandaluyong on Feb. 24 to mark the 3rd year of Russian full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine.
Inspired by true events, “Ludzie” produced by the Warsaw Film School, is a story about five women from different backgrounds representing various generations engaged in a desperate fight to save themselves and their loved ones when the war broke out in Ukraine.
A collaborative effort between Polish and Ukrainian filmmakers who described the work as a tribute to civilians whose experiences are often overshadowed by battlefield narratives.
Reviews describe it as raw, epic, and compelling. The film is not so much about the war, but about its effect on those caught up in it.
During the event, distinguished ambassadors from various embassies and representatives from the diplomatic community gave their messages of solidarity and support with Ukraine.
The “Ukrainian Artists at War” exhibit featured children’s drawings depicting their experiences of the ongoing conflict, alongside works from the Embassy of Ukraine.
