Romanian Cultural Institute opens 2025 scholarship program for foreign journalists

The Romanian Cultural Institute, through the Embassy of Romania in the Philippines, has launched a call for applications for its 2025 research and documentary scholarship program for foreign cultural journalists. The program supports projects that promote Romanian culture in the international press.

The institute invites interested journalists to submit their applications by March 19 at 4 p.m. Romanian time via email at [email protected].

The program awards three scholarships annually, distributed based on the agreed documentation period, which can be scheduled between May 30 and Nov. 30.

The scholarships provide financial support for a one-month documentation period in Romania, allowing foreign journalists to develop projects showcasing various aspects of Romanian culture. The number of scholarships awarded each year remains at three, with recipients selecting their documentation period within the calendar year.

Journalists will conduct their research in locations relevant to their chosen topic. The program accepts applications for projects in cultural journalism, documentary film, and photo reportage.

Interested journalists must submit their applications by March 19 at 4 p.m. Romanian time via email at [email protected].
