PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Police arrested four suspected cattle rustlers in Barangay Aulo here on Monday morning, March 10.

Police Col. Ferdinand Germino, Nueva Ecija police chief, said Chairman Gerry Andasan informed the police that a cow was being stolen by four individuals in the barangay.
Police caught the suspects in the act. The suspects were unable to present proof of ownership and were apprehended.
Recovered from the suspects – a 37-year-old man, a 31-year-old man, a 29-year-old man, and a 16-year-old minor, all from Cabanatuan City – were two bladed weapons.
Police are said they are looking into possible involvement of the suspects in cattle rustling incidents here as their mobile phones showed previous transactions and deals involving cow and carabao meat.
“Just imagine the greediness of these offenders. A carabao or cow is the livelihood of these farmers and victims. If they took it from them, they have also taken their lives. I have instructed the COP of Palayan City PS to further investigate the matter and ensure that these offenders will spend their lives in prison,” Geronimo said.
The suspects face charges for cattle rustling and illegal possession of bladed weapon.
