CSC opens nominations for 2025 Search for Outstanding Government Workers

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is accepting nominations for the 2025 Search for Outstanding Government Workers until March 31.

The annual search, which is part of the government’s Honor Awards Program, aims to recognize civil servants who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to public service and to inspire others to uphold excellence and integrity in their work.

CSC said eligible for nomination are all career and non-career government employees, including appointive barangay officials.

However, those employed under Job Order or Contract of Service arrangements are not eligible.

Nominations may be made for three national honor awards—the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, CSC Pagasa Award, and Outstanding Public Officials and Employees (Dangal ng Bayan) Award.

The Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award recognizes civil servants whose exceptional achievements have had a national impact, based on Executive Order No. 508, s. 1992.

Meanwhile, the CSC Pagasa Award is for individuals who have contributed to innovations, digital transformation, or significant improvements within their agency, department, or region.

The Outstanding Public Officials and Employees Award honors public servants who have consistently exhibited exemplary ethical behavior under Republic Act No. 6713, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, even in challenging circumstances.

CSC said posthumous nominations may also be submitted for public servants who died in the line of duty, provided the nomination is submitted within 12 months of death.

Awardees will receive various rewards and incentives, including cash prizes, automatic promotion or salary increase equivalent to the next higher position, a one-time executive check-up, and scholarship opportunities with CSC’s partner educational institutions.
