3 injured in three-vehicle collision along Taft Avenue
A collision of three jeepneys at the intersection of Taft Avenue and Padre Faura Street in Ermita, Manila, left three people injured.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on March 8, when the driver of a public utility jeepney, identified as Crispin Punio dela Cruz, 30, was traveling southward along Taft Avenue.
Meanwhile, two other jeepneys, driven by Joel Tagnawa, 22, and Shamar Matta delos Reyes, 28, were traversing Padre Faura Street.
According to the initial reports from the Manila Police District (MPD), as the vehicles reached the intersection, the three PUJs collided with each other.

Both pedestrians sustained injuries and were quickly transported to Manila Doctors Hospital for treatment.
A passenger in Tagnawa’s jeepney, identified as Jennifer Hernandez, was also injured and taken to the hospital.

The drivers of all three vehicles underwent medical examinations at Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center to assess their fitness to drive.
During investigation, authorities determined that the crash was caused by reckless driving, but the involved parties later opted to settle the matter amicably.
While no criminal charges were filed, a report about the incident was filed with the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
