Administration senatorial candidate, former Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III doesn't agree with proposals to add more exemptions for the use of the restricted EDSA bus lane.
While others are tempted to enter the bus lane to get ahead of their fellow motorists, Sotto said he would rather play it fair.
"I disagree doon sa dadagdagan ng exemption. Bakit, nagtitiyaga kami doon sa hindi busway (I disagree with increasing the exemptions. We endure the traffic outside the busy)," a miffed Sotto said during the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate's press conference Friday, Feb. 28 at Hotel Savano in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan.
To those who don't want to deal with Metro Manila's traffic, the senatorial hopeful gave this practical advice: "Di agahan mo ang alis ‘di ba? (Why don't you leave the House early?)"
"I drive myself everyday so I know how it is ‘no, so agahan mo ang lakad mo (just leave the ouse early)," Sotto underscored.
For him, it's the President, if anybody, who deserves exemption along the bus lane.
"Bakit Presidente ka ba ng Pilipinas para exempted ka sa busway? Hindi pwede ‘yon (Why, are you the President of the Philippines to be entitled to busway exemption? That can't happen)," Sotto said.
