After trailing by as many as 10 points in the first quarter, 14-4, the Sonicboom restored order and roared back in the second half after capturing a 17-point lead, 66-49.
Former UP guard and two-time UAAP champion JD Cagulangan gave an all-around effort of eight points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Leading the Sonicboom was Rayshaun Hammonds who registered a double-double effort of 21 points and 11 rebounds while Ismael Romero and Heo Hoon poured in 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Cady Lalanne had 18 points and 16 rebounds while Lee Ho-Hyun added 18 as well for the faltering Busan.
With their back-to-back wins, Suwon KT improved its record to 23-17 at fourth while Busan suffered its ninth consecutive defeat for a 15-26 card at seventh.
Meanwhile, the league-leading Seoul SK Knights marched back to the winning column after frustrating the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, 80-77.
