CCTV helps bust 3 Parañaque City resto robbers

The footage extracted from the closed circuit television (CCTV) led investigators of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to arrest three suspected robbers who pulled off a heist in a restaurant in Parañaque City.

NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said that as soon as the police received the complaints, they immediately conducted a CCTV backtracking to establish the identity of the perpetrators.

And as a result, police were able to identify the suspected robbers and later pounced on them in Barangay La Huerta, Parañaque City within 24 hours after they robbed a restaurant in Barangay San Isidro.

“NCRPO’s police response will always be quick, relentless and well-coordinated as we bring able, active and allied police officers in the streets, strategically deployed to ensure immediate response whenever there are calls for police assistance,” said Aberin.

Based on the investigation, the three suspects initially posed as customers before declaring a robbery on Feb. 26. They forcibly took ₱13,000 in cash and a cell phone from the restaurant’s locker room before fleeing on motorcycles.

During the arrest, authorities recovered a .22 caliber firearm, a hand grenade, two pen guns, four ammunition of 9mm and three .22 caliber ammunition, and an unregistered black SYM motorcycle used in the crime.

However, the stolen cash and cellphone were not recovered.

The arrested suspects are now detained and facing charges for Robbery Hold-up, violations of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Firearms, Ammunition, and Explosives), and Batasang Pambansa 881 (Omnibus Election Code).
