Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has launched a new extended warranty program for its vehicles. The Toyota 5-Year Warranty will be available for all Toyota vehicles sold from January 1, 2025 onwards, extending the current standard warranty coverage. Previously, Toyota vehicles were covered by a three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty, whichever came first. With this new program, customers can extend their warranty by up to two additional years or 40,000 kilometers, provided they meet specific requirements related to periodic maintenance services (PMS).
Eligibility and coverage
The Toyota 5-Year Warranty applies to all Toyota models released on or after January 1, 2025. It is also available for vehicles under contract with Kinto One or Kinto One Business from the same date. The extended warranty is categorized into two levels: Full Coverage and Limited Coverage, based on the number of PMS visits completed during the standard three-year warranty period.
To qualify for the 4th Year Full Coverage warranty, customers must complete at least six PMS visits at any authorized Toyota dealership, ensuring that at least one PMS is conducted each year during the initial three years. This additional warranty offers the same coverage as the original three-year warranty. Customers who complete three to five PMS visits are still eligible for an extended warranty under the 4th Year Limited Coverage. However, this limited warranty excludes wear and tear parts related to the suspension, steering, and brake systems.
Extending to the 5th year
Customers who qualify for the 4th Year Full Coverage can further extend their warranty for another year, resulting in a 5-Year Full Coverage warranty. To do so, they must complete at least two PMS visits during their fourth year of vehicle ownership. This extension provides the same level of protection as the original warranty. However, customers who complete only one PMS visit during their fourth year will be eligible only for the 5th Year Limited Coverage, which includes the same exclusions as the 4th Year Limited Coverage.
