QCPD nabs wanted persons hiding for 27 years, others for years in weeklong ops
A total of 64 wanted persons were arrested, including a man charged with murder who had been hiding for 27 years, along with others evading arrest for several years, during a weeklong operation by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
From Feb. 2 to 8, the QCPD’s campaign against wanted persons resulted in the arrest of 29 most wanted persons (MWP) and 35 other wanted persons.
Among those arrested were Joel Bohol, 52, listed as the number 2 most wanted person (MWP) at Pasong Putik Police Station 16 for murder, who had been hiding for 27 years; Normel Trajano, 35, charged with murder, who had been on the run for 13 years; Cristy Ramones Santos, 55, listed as the number 10 MWP at Project 6 Police Station 15 for theft, who had been evading arrest for eight years; and Elsid Premista Delos Santos, 29, wanted for violating Republic Act 9165 (the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), who had been in hiding for seven years.
Authorities also arrested the following individuals who had been hiding for six years: Paul Pantoja Aguirre, 42, for slight physical injuries and damage to property; Raymon Elnar Milan, 54, for malicious mischief; and Jerryn Pilado, 28, for violating the gun ban under Republic Act 7166.
The QCPD stated that the respective courts of origin have been informed about the arrests of these wanted individuals.
In addition, the QCPD also conducted 50 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 75 drug suspects and the confiscation of P2,062,824 worth of illegal drugs.
Authorities also arrested 74 individuals for illegal gambling, confiscating a total of P24,147 in bet money, and apprehended five individuals for illegal possession of firearms.
QCPD acting director Col. Melecio Buslig, Jr. vowed to maintain peace and order in the city, saying, "Hindi kami titigil sa pagpapatupad ng batas upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa Quezon City. Ang mga operasyong ito ay patunay na seryoso ang QCPD sa paglaban sa kriminalidad (We will not stop enforcing the law to maintain peace and order in Quezon City. These operations are proof that QCPD is serious in fighting crime).”
