The Quezon City government was recognized by the Synergeia Foundation as a leader in advancing quality education in the country.

This came after the coveted Seal of Good Education Governance (SGEG) was awarded to Quezon City.

The award is given to local government units that demostrate visionary leadership, strong community collaboration, and impactful programs that improve learning outcomes.

Quezon City is the largest school division in the country catering to over 426,000 public elementary and secondary students.

It has prioritized education as a cornerstone of progress, leveraging transparency, stakeholder engagement, and innovative policies to ensure equitable access to learning opportunities.

According to Mayor Joy Belmonte, the award not only reflects the city’s scale but its commitment to inclusive and transformative governance.

“This recognition highlights Quezon City’s unwavering dedication to providing every child with quality education,” she said.

“It inspires us to continue building a more inclusive and dynamic learning environment for our students,” she added.

In a separate statement, Schools Division Superintendent Carleen Sedilla noted the collective effort that led to accolade.

“This award reflects the power of partnerships among local government, educators, and communities to create meaningful change in the lives of our students,” she said.

Meanwhile, Councilor Aly Medalla, Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science, and Technology expressed her gratitude for the recognition.

“We are deeply grateful for this recognition. It is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in our education initiatives. This milestone drives us to aim even higher for our students and communities,” she said.
