UniTeam mainstay Andrew E to make campaign trail return with Alyansa admin slate

Andrew E.--the Filipino rap icon who was a popular facet of the UniTeam sorties in 2022--will make his return to the campaign trail this 2025 with the administration’s Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate.

This was confirmed to reporters over the weekend by Navotas City lone district Rep. Toby Tiangco, Alyansa's campaign manager.

With Andrew E. tagged as the top-billing performer at the upcoming Alyansa sorties, everybody is all eyes--rather, all ears--with what kind of catchy phrases the rap legend will come up with this time.

The 57-year-old was the voice behind the ubiquitous "Bagong Pilipinas, bagong mukha" chants during previous national elections.

True to his emcee roots, Andrew E. would at times improvise "bars" depending on the location of the sortie, thus encouraging maximum audience participation. This made him as big of a draw as the actual politicians whom he introduced on stage as part of his act.

"UniTeam" was the name given to the tandem of President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte when they ran for their respective posts during the 2022 polls.

Marcos and Duterte have since had a very public fall out.

Tiangco said that Alyansa campaign sorties all over the country will be capped by an appearance and speech by President Marcos.
