ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of Sulu province was gunned down on Friday, Feb. 7, in Jolo town, Sulu.
Police identified the victim as Sonatria Dandun Gaspar.

Initial investigation said that Gaspar was signing teachers’ reports inside her office when a man entered and shot her in the head. She died on the spot.
Her remains were taken to this city for immediate interment in line with the Islamic tradition of burying the dead within 24 hours.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and manhunt against the suspect who fled after the incident.
The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao condemned the murder of Gaspar.
“We call for justice and an end to violence, urging authorities to ensure that those responsible for this crime are held accountable,” it said.
