Frenchie Dy suffers from another Bell's Palsy attack

Singer Frenchie Dy shared a heartfelt video requesting prayers as she experienced a Bell's Palsy attack for the third time.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Bell's Palsy is a condition characterized by sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face. It is also referred to as acute peripheral facial palsy of unknown origin and can affect individuals of any age.

Frenchie announced the news in a Facebook video last Tuesday while sharing her recovery journey.

"Third Bell’s palsy attack, nakakaloka. Yesterday habang nagla-lunch kami ni hubby, naramdaman ko na iba ‘yung panlasa ko. Then after mga 1 o'clock, nung uminom ako ng tubig, naramdaman ko na tumutulo na ‘yung water. (During my third Bell's palsy attack, I was shocked. Yesterday, while my husband and I were having lunch, I noticed that my sense of taste was different. Then, around 1 o'clock, while I was drinking water, I felt as if the water was dripping)," Frenchie recalled.

The "Star in a Million" alum went to the hospital and was diagnosed by her doctors with another Bell's Palsy attack.

In the following video, Frenchie became emotional as she expressed her discouragement regarding her condition while hoping everyone was praying for her safety and recovery.

"Medyo naiiyak ako kasi pinanghihinaan ako ng loob, pero I know na maraming nagpe-pray for me… Kaya ko ‘to, laban lang. (I'm feeling a bit discouraged and emotional, but I know many people are praying for me. I can do this; I will keep fighting)," Frenchie said. 

Frenchie provided health updates, stating that she was already in therapy and even attempted to sing a song despite her illness.

“Mahirap man ang hamon, dapat lumaban. Salamat sa Diyos nakaka-kanta pa rin ako. Medyo nakakabingi lang pero it’s getting better. I’m patient and claiming that I’ll be healed soon. (Even if the challenge is difficult, you must fight. Thank God I can still sing. It’s a little overwhelming, but it’s getting better. I’m patient and believe that I’ll be healed soon)," she added. 

Frenchie had her first Bell's palsy attack in grade school. After winning the reality show "Star in a Million," she experienced another attack in 2006.
