BACOLOD CITY – The body of a man suspected to be a “salvage” or summary execution victim was found in a sugarcane field in Sitio Lemonsito, Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Police Major Romulo Gepilango, Moises Padilla police chief, said that a worker discovered the victim’s decomposing body.
Gepilango said the victim’s body was placed in a sack and his head was covered by a shirt. The victim sustained bullet wounds in the neck, back, hand, and legs.
He said that the victim may have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area to mislead investigators.
Gepilango said they have coordinated with other police stations for missing individuals and identification of the victim.
