Shear line, 'amihan' to bring scattered rains to parts of the Philippines --- PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, Feb. 7, said that the shear line and the northeast monsoon or “amihan” are expected to bring scattered rains to parts of the Philippines.

In its weather forecast, PAGASA stated that the shear line will affect Southern Luzon and the Visayas, while the northeast monsoon will influence the rest of Luzon.
Due to the shear line, cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected in the Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.
Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Bulacan, and Bataan may also experience cloudy skies with rain due to the northeast monsoon.
The “amihan” is also expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to the rest of Luzon, PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
PAGASA warned that flash floods and landslides are possible due to moderate to heavy rainfall, with occasional intense rains or severe thunderstorms.
