Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep Sandro Marcos has dismissed the apparent smear campaign on the House of Representatives' recent impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Rep. Marcos linked such propaganda to Duterte supporters or DDS.
"I think that's just part of the yung mga fake news ng mga DDS, parte po yan ng smear campaign nila (I think that's just part of the fake news of the DDS, part of their smear campaign)," said the presidential son.
The 30 -year-old congressman didn't appear to be worried or intimidated by such campaign.
"You can't blame them. Alam naman natin kung sino amo nila (We know who their boss is)," Rep. Marcos said without mentioning any names.
Rep. Marcos' name and signature topped the list of 215 congressmen-signatories on the duly endorsed and verified impeachmemt complaint against Vice President Duterte that was sent directly to the Senate last Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Among the allegations going around in social media was the claim that House members were forced to sign the complaint. Another allegation was the supposed offer of additional "ayuda" or financial assistance budget to the signatories.
These are all baloney, according to Rep. Marcos.
"There was nothing offered in exchange for the signatures. I was there in the room. Pinag-usapan talaga ang articles of impeachment (The articles of impeachment were discussed) and then people were given the choice to sign or not," he said.
