Romualdez lets senators decide on impeachment trial

TACLOBAN CITY – House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez is letting senators decide if they will proceed with the trial of the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.

“It’s up to them. We leave it to their sound discretion,” Romualdez said on Friday, Feb. 7, during the groundbreaking of the Benjamin Romualdez International Convention Center here.

Romualdez denied that they are pushing to expedite the impeachment proceedings.

Named after his late father, the P750-million project funded under the General Appropriations Act 2024 is divided into two phases and will be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways-Regional Office 8 (Eastern Visayas).

Romualdez graced the Tingog party-list summit in Palo, Leyte before the groundbreaking.
