Rider evading authorities hits lady enforcer on EDSA busway

A lady enforcer of the Department of Transportation-Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) was injured after a motorcycle rider hit her while trying to escape from the authorities for his unauthorized use of the EDSA busway along Ortigas, Pasig on Friday, Feb. 7.

In a video from the agency, DOTr-SAICT operatives were monitoring the EDSA busway when they spotted the rider illegally using the busway.

They ordered the rider to stop but instead of doing so, the rider sped up to evade the enforcers. He hit the lady enforcer who fell on the ground due to the impact.

The rider tried to escape using the bike lane and hit another cyclist.

He was eventually caught by the authorities.

DOTr-SAICT officials said the rider was brought to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for investigation. Charges of hit-and-run will be filed against the rider.

Both the enforcer and the cyclist were given immediate medical attention and are now in stable condition.
