Let impeach process go through – Benitez

BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Albee Benitez on Friday, Feb. 7, expressed uncertainty about the impeachment complaint filed by the House of Representatives against Vice President Sara Duterte.

“I don’t know what’s happening,” Benitez said when asked for reaction.

He said that the Senate has the authority to hear the complaint but the session adjourned on Wednesday.

Benitez said that the matter should be allowed to go through the proper channels but did not elaborate further.

“Let the process go through,” he added.

Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya, one of the 215 lawmakers who signed the impeachment complaint, declined to comment about the complaint.
