BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested 131 suspected drug pushers and confiscated shabu and marijuana valued at P4.3 million in the Caraga region from Jan. 1 to 31.

“All the arrested suspects are now charged in the different courts in the region for violation of Sections 11 and 12, Article 2, Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002),” Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.
Ometer said the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office seized 218.495 grams of shabu worth P1.4 million and apprehended 21 drug pushers, followed by the Agusan del Sur PPO with 113.14 grams of shabu and 26 grams of marijuana valued at P772,472 and 28 suspects;
Butuan City Police Office, 94.295 grams of shabu valued at P641,206 and 27 suspects; the Surigao del Norte PPO, 90.4747 grams of shabu and 0.45 grams of marijuana amounting to P615,281.96 and 36 suspects; the Agusan del Norte PPO, 89.6 grams of shabu worth P609,280, and 16 suspects; and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-13, Special Operations Unit-13, and Dinagat Islands PPO, 17 grams of shabu valued at P115,600; 15 grams, P102,000, and two grams of shabu, P13,600, respectively, and apprehended one suspect each.
PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano lauded operating units for their achievement.
“This significant accomplishment is a testament to the strong collaboration among PNP-Caraga, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), local government units (LGUs), and the community, all working together to ensure the safety and security of our people,” he said and assured that PRO-13 remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring a safer, drug-free community through relentless operations and strengthened partnerships with key stakeholders.
