In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line is affecting parts of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, while the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” is influencing the rest of Luzon.

The easterlies are also expected to affect weather conditions in Mindanao, according to PAGASA.

The shear line, a weather phenomenon that occurs when warm and cold air masses converge, is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and isolated thunderstorms to the Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Aurora.

The “amihan” will continue to prevail over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with rain.

PAGASA said the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, known as the easterlies, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms to the Caraga and Davao Regions.

The rest of Mindanao is also expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms or due to moderate to heavy, and at times, intense rain.
