Suan denies 'ayuda promise' to solons if they sign on for VP Duterte's impeachment

Suan denied making such statement saying that, after signing on for Duterte's ouster, House Speaker Martin Romualdez would provide his office additional budget for "ayuda" or financial assistance to his constituents.

Like the particular statement, he also branded the Facebook page "The Working Congressman," where the remark was supposedly posted, as "fake."

"I never issued that statement. This is fake news and black propaganda aimed to mislead the people and tarnish my name, that of Speaker Martin Romualdez, and the House of Representatives," Suan said, adding that they were "all lies".

Suan said that while he signed on for Duterte's impeachment, he did it for accountability, and not to assail any individual.

"My vote was not a personal attack against VP Sara," the Mindanao lawmaker said.


Suan says he is a public servant, and that his loyalty will always lie with the people he represents in the Congress.

​"My ​'yes​' vote does not change who I am, nor does it alter my commitment to serve you with everything I have​," he said.

​"I will continue to work tirelessly for you. I will continue to be your voice, your advocate, and your servant​," he added.

​Suan said that no fake news, smear campaign​ or amount of bashing can deter ​him from ​working for his people.
