Three individuals, one of them a woman, were arrested during an entrapment operation for the illegal production of persons with disabilities (PWD) identification cards in Manila.
The suspects, identified as Marites Esedera, Erdie Macaspac, and Michelle Janaban were arrested around 5:40 p.m. on Feb. 5 in Barangay 310, Quezon Boulevard, Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The operation conducted by the Manila Police District’s (MPD) District Intelligence Division (DID) Tracker Team was launched after authorities received reports of the proliferation of fake PWD IDs.
The operation, led by Cpt. Joel C. Aquino and Lt. Col. John K. Guiagui, resulted in the successful arrest of the suspects and in the recovery of tools for forgery, including a computer set (monitor, CPU, keyboard), printer, pack of paper vellum, metal ruler, cutter, and several fake PWD IDs.

The suspects, along with the recovered evidence, were brought to the MPD-DID, for further investigation.
They will face violations under Articles 171 (Falsification of Public Documents) and 176 (Manufacturing and Possession of Instruments or Implements for Falsification) of the Revised Penal Code.
Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to the illegal production of falsified documents.
The MPD said it is committed to ensure the integrity of government-issued identification cards and prevent fraudulent activities that undermine public trust.
