ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Police Regional Office-9 on Wednesday, Feb. 5, led the signing of a peace covenant and solidarity pact with stakeholders in the Zamboanga Peninsula region for the May elections in Camp Romeo Abendan, Barangay Mercedes, this city.

PRO-9 Director Police Brig. Gen. Roel Rodolfo, who led the signing, described the covenant as a historical declaration and solemn commitment that will echo beyond the PRO-9 headquarters and various communities for the betterment of the future generations.
“We can simply say that we stood back for peace. We stood for democracy and defended integrity,” Rodolfo said.
Rodolfo said the signing was not just a formality but also a promise to uphold a steadfast commitment to peace and will not allow violence to hamper the elections.
The PRO-9 chief vowed to work hand-in-hand with the different stakeholders in its Area of Responsibility to protect the voice of the people and the democratic processes.
“Let this moment ignite the fire in our hearts. Let us start the movement strong that no one shakes its foundation. Together we will not only envision a peaceful election, but we will make it happen.”
