Himamaylan City, Phil Tower sign agreement to build cell site towers

Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental and neighboring areas will soon benefit from improved cellular network and data connectivity after the city government signed a partnership with Phil Tower Consortium Inc. to build cell site towers in strategic areas.

Mayor Raymund Tongson and PhilTower chief governor and external affairs officer Kalvin Laurence Antonio Parpan recently signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the P390-million network project that materialized after a recommendation from the Department of Information and Communications Technology and the Anti-Red Tape Authority.

Tongson cited the city’s strong performance and compliance with government programs, emphasizing that the project will significantly improve both connectivity for residents and investment potential.

“This multi-million project will also serve as a go-signal for investors. They will see that Himamaylan City is ready for continued development,” he added.

The project aims to improve signal strength and mobile data services, a vital need in today’s digital world.

“In today’s age, strong connectivity is essential for everyone. This project will have a significant impact on Himamaylan City,” Tongson said.

He thanked the DICT and ARTA for their support. Tongson said the project is an important step for the city’s progress.
