Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo named finalist in She Shapes AI Awards 2024/25

London, UK – Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo, founder of NightOwlGPT, has been named a finalist for the prestigious She Shapes AI Awards 2024/25 in the AI & Learning category. This award recognizes innovators using artificial intelligence to advance education, digital inclusivity, and lifelong learning.

Lamentillo, alongside fellow finalists Floretta M. (Hola Soy Violetta) and Ndipabonga Atanga (Batazia), is being recognized for her work in expanding access to knowledge, preserving endangered languages, and leveraging AI to create more inclusive learning environments. Through NightOwlGPT, she is pioneering AI-driven solutions to bridge the digital divide and ensure that AI supports linguistic and cultural preservation—particularly for low-resource languages with complex morphology that are often underrepresented in mainstream AI models.

The event will be hosted by University College London’s School of Management at their prestigious Canary Wharf venue, bringing together AI leaders, researchers, and innovators committed to shaping a more inclusive digital future.
