Aguinaldo’s 61st death anniversary commemorated in Kawit

CAVITE – Commemorative rites for the 61st death anniversary of President Emilio Aguinaldo were held in his hometown, Kawit, on Thursday, Feb. 6.
The ceremony was spearheaded by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo, the Municipality of Kawit, and the Provincial Government of Cavite.
A Mass was held at the Aguinaldo Shrine, followed by a flag-raising ceremony.
Afterward, wreaths were laid at the general’s tomb by local officials, Masonic groups, socio-civic organizations, and Aguinaldo’s descendants, followed by a blessing of the tomb.
The first President of the Philippines died of a heart attack on February 6, 1964 at the age of 94.
