CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – One-thousand, seven-hundred seventy-seven police officers from the Police Regional Office-1 (Ilocos) were promoted on Thursday, Feb. 6.

PRO-1 chief Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista led the mass oathtaking, donning, and pinning of ranks at the PRO-1 Grandstand in this camp.
Ninety-nine were police commissioned officers and 1,678 were police non-commissioned officers.
Thirteen were promoted to police major, seven to captain, 79 to lieutenant, 73 to police executive master sergeant, 314 to police chief master sergeant, 235 to police senior master sergeant, 619 to police master sergeant, 176 to police staff sergeant, and 261 to police corporal.
Evangelista congratulated the promotees.
“As we celebrate these promotions, we also reinforce the significance of compassion for our PNP personnel in our seven-point agenda, SECURED. This is a pledge to prioritize the well-being and professional growth of our police officers, ensuring that as they ascend in their roles, they are supported by a culture that values their contributions and nurtures their potential.”
“Your promotion is the testament and manifestation of your efficient and commendable service to the public. Every rank you are holding symbolizes a higher level of responsibilities and opportunities in bringing better services to the public,” he added.
Meanwhile, 1,358 police officers from the Cordillera region were also promoted on Thursday.
Ninety-three were police commissioned officers and 1,265 were police non-commissioned officers.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. and Editha S. Puddoc, National Police Commission-Cordillera chief, congratulated and commended the newly promoted officers for their dedication to public service. (With a report from Zaldy Comanda)
