Quad-comm, blue ribbon heavy-hitters headline House prosecution team in VP Sara impeachment trial

Congressmen who have made their mark in the viral hearings of the House of Representatives will headline the 11-member prosecution panel in the upcoming impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
"Young Guns" bloc members Batangas 2nd district Rep. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro, 1-Rider Party-list Rep. Rodge Gutierrez, Bukidnon 2nd district Rep.Jonathan Keith Flores, San Juan lone district Rep. Ysabel Maria Zamora, and Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Jil Bongalon comprise part of the prosecution team named by Majority Leader Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe in plenary Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 5.
Luistro and company have been mainstays in hearings of the quad-committee (quad-comm) and Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, where they have shown to be more than capable of getting their point across in dealing with various resource persons while holding the attention of the viewing public.
Speaking of the quad-comm, its no-nonsense vice chairman,Antipolo City 2nd district Rep. Romeo Acop was also tapped for the side of the prosecutors. Acop is a retired brigadier general.
Manila 3rd district Rep. Joel Chua--chairman of the good government panel that discussed at length the confidential funds controversy involving the Vice President--was also picked for the team.
The Chua panel is often called the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee of the House.
The prosecution panel is rounded up by ranking solons, House Minority Leader 4PS Party-list Rep. Marcelino "Nonoy" Libanan; Assistant Majority Leaders General Santos City lone district Rep. Loreto Acharon and Oriental Mindoro 1st district Rep. Arnan Panaligan; and Deputy Majority Leader Iloilo 3rd district Rep. Lorenz Defensor.
The Senate is set to convene into an impeachment trial court following the House's transmittal of a duly endorsed and verified impeachmemt complaint against the county's second highest-ranked official on Wednesday.
