According to the city’s Public Information Office, this initiative is part of Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan’s ongoing digitalization efforts, which have already introduced online payment options for business and real property taxes, university fees, business permits, and electronic receipts for taxpayers.

Malapitan expressed his gratitude to GCash for making the project possible, enabling the city to quickly deliver its social development program to those who need it most.

“Dahil po sa pagtutulungan ng pamahalaang lungsod at ng GCash, makasisiguro po tayo na mabilis na matatanggap ng mga solo parent sa lungsod ang tulong pinansyal na handog natin para sa kanila (Thanks to the collaboration between the city government and GCash, we can ensure that solo parents in the city will receive the financial assistance we have prepared for them quickly),” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of technology in government services, stressing that digital solutions help make city programs more accessible to residents

We can quickly distribute programs to the people, reduce long queues, and, as much as possible, you won't have to leave your homes to experience the action and compassion of the city government),” Malapiran said.

We have improved and developed projects, especially for the vulnerable sectors. That's why we are also coordinating with other online platforms to ensure that our citizens can receive the benefits smoothly and without any hassle),” the mayor added.
