Bus firm reiterates commitment to Filipinos' mobility

An efficient bus transport system is crucial for inter-province mobility and economic growth.

The largest land transport conglomerate in the country pointed this out as the Yanson Group of Bus Companies reiterated its commitment to help the government facilitate people’s mobility to travel for work or leisure and spur economic activities.

“Mobility directly translates into a bigger demand for public transport. The Yanson Group commits to providing safe, dependable, and affordable transport solutions,” Olivia V. Yanson, co-founder of YGBC, said during the annual stockholder’s meeting of Goldstar Bus Transit Inc. on Monday, Feb. 3, in Bacolod City.

Goldstar Bus is one of the companies under the Yanson Group.

GBTI executives Olivia, Leo Rey Yanson, Ginnette Y. Dumancas, lawyer Collin Derk Y. Isidto, Hernan B. Omecillo, and Danny O. Lorenton were re-elected as members of the board during the stockholders’ meeting.

An organizational meeting followed, with the board reappointing Leo Rey as chairman and president and Olivia as treasurer and corporate secretary.

Meanwhile, Ceres Transport Inc. (CTI), which is also under the Yanson Group, held a separate stockholders’ meeting.

Reelected board members were Olivia, Leo Rey, Ginnette, Charles M. Dumancas, Rey C. Ardo, Daniel Nicolas P. Golez, Arvin John Villaruel, Anita G. Chua, Joseph Ellery Villanueva, Omecillo, and Alfredo O. Ligo.

They re-appointed Leo Rey as chairman and president and Olivia as treasurer and corporate secretary.

Goldstar Bus and Ceres Transport belong to the YGBC, the biggest bus conglomerate in the Philippines.
