Basketball coach nabbed for molesting teenage boy

ATIMONAN, Quezon – A 45-year-old basketball coach was apprehended for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old boy here on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Police Major Marnie Abellanida, town police chief, said the victim was encouraged by the suspect to join the basketball team he was organizing.

The victim was allegedly molested at the house of the suspect where he was asked to submit his requirements.

The victim sought police assistance and filed a complaint. The suspect was arrested during a follow-up operation.

The suspect who faces a complaint for violation of Republic Act 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act is in the custody of the police.
