Valenzuela LGU warns against fake 'garbage collectors' soliciting donations

The Valenzuela City government has warned against individuals posing as garbage collectors from the Waste Management Office (WMO) and soliciting "donations" from residents.

These individuals are not legitimate City Hall employees and have no authority to collect money from households, the local government said.

Residents were urged to be cautious and report any suspicious activities.

The city government provided contact information for concerned citizens to report such incidents. If approached by the impostors, residents were urged to contact the WMO at (02) 8352-2000 loc. 2113 or inform their barangay hall immediately.

The LGU is working closely with law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter and hold those behind the illegal solicitations accountable.

It also reminded residents that all garbage collection services provided by the city are free of charge and no payments or donations should be given to collectors.

Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant and to verify the identity of individuals claiming to be from the City Hall before providing them with any form of assistance.
