Two motorcycle thieves were arrested in Sta. Ana, Manila, following a backtracking operation by the Manila Police District (MPD).
Police identified the suspects as Bryan, 18, and Maya, residents of Sta. Ana, Manila.
According to the MPD's Anti-Carnapping Unit (MPD-DACU), the suspects were seen in the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage stealing a Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle parked along Rianzares Street in Sampaloc, Manila.
The suspects were then seen pushing the motorcycle away before loading it onto a tricycle, heading toward Sta. Ana, Manila.
MPD officers were able to track down the suspects and recover the stolen motorcycle.
The suspects are now facing charges under Republic Act 10883, also known as the "New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016," and are currently detained at the MPD headquarters.
Police said their records show that Bryan was previously arrested for a similar motorcycle theft incident in May 2023 in Paco, Manila.
