Security guard killed for being late for work in Antipolo City

A security guard was shot to death by his colleague for allegedly being habitually tardy at work in Antipolo, Rizal, the police said on Monday, Feb. 3.
In a CCTV footage recovered from their workplace, the suspect was seen drawing out his gun and shooting the victim multiple times.
The victim was declared dead on-the-spot.
Antipolo City Police chief Lt. Col. Ryan Manongdo said that the shooting stemmed from the victim allegedly being late for 30 minutes, infuriating the suspect who was the victim's reliever at work.
The suspect said that this was not the first time the victim was late for work.
"Yung suspek natin parang buong araw nang nagdu-duty. Initially, sabi niya, parang araw-araw na late 'yung kasama niya (Our suspect has been allegedly on duty the whole day. He said that this co-worker has been late almost everyday)," Manongdo explained.
He added that instead of apologizing, the victim reportedly threatened the suspect and his family, further angering the suspect.
"Pinagalitan po kami. Dala po ng galit, pati sa pagbabanta niya sa akin pati sa pamilya ko. Sa akin wala naman pong problema, pero ayaw kong nadadamay pa 'yung pamilya ko (We were reprimanded. I shot him out of anger and also because he was threatening me and my family. There’s no problem with me if he’s like that, but I didn’t want my family to be involved)," the suspect said.
Manongdo said the suspect has been charged with homicide.
