Pasig City launches new library, reading program for youth
The Hooked on Books (HOB) Library and its affiliated reading program were officially launched and opened at Pinagbuhatan Elementary School in Pasig City on Monday, Feb. 3, aiming to nurture the imagination and abilities of the youth toward a brighter future through reading.

The program was developed through a collaboration with LINKS Philippines, SDO-Pasig, and support from the private sector, which provided resources like books, furniture, paint, and lights, all with the goal of encouraging students to read and work together for their future.
It said that the ceremonial turnover of the HOB Library and a variety of children's books was led by LINKS PH President Maria Consuelo Doble and received by Pasig City officials led by Mayor Vico Sotto and Councilor Corie Raymundo, Chairperson of the Committee on Education.
Mayor Sotto led the ribbon-cutting ceremony and toured the facility.
He thanked the organizations and volunteers who worked together to make the launch of the HOB Library in the city possible.
School Division Office-Pasig Principal Josephine Macawile and Dr. Victor Javeña led the awarding rites for volunteers and partner organizations for their contributions in setting up the library.
The event ended with a storytelling session attended by the school’s students.
