Renewable energy (RE) provider First Gen Corporation (FGen) is prolonging its partnership with industrial printing firm Precision Crestec, Inc. to power its production facility in Pasig City.
In a statement on Tuesday, Feb. 4, FGen and Precision inked a new supply agreement for 700 kilowatts (KW) of RE for the printing firm’s building, following its previous collaboration in 2021.
According to FGen, this deal would increase the demand for Precision’s sustainable supply chains and products through operating with clean energy.
Purificacion Dizon, president of Precision, stated that its partnership would help integrate more cost-effective and green-based packaging.
“Founded in 1962, Precision Crestec, Inc. is one of the leading providers of high-quality packaging solutions, serving industries such as food and beverage, electronics, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and retail for both local and Philippine-based export companies,” Dizon said.
“With an innovative approach, we deliver durable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly packaging designed to enhance product safety and brand visibility while maintaining the lowest possible carbon footprint.”
FGen’s sister company, Pi Energy, Inc. had also provided Precision with energy efficiency solutions in its operations.
This includes a remote energy monitoring system which would allow Precision to analyze and study its power consumption.
Carlo Vega, FGen vice president and chief customer manager, believed that this collaboration would help reduce industrial carbon emissions.
“Our partnership with industrial firms such as Precision Crestec, Inc. enables them to make sense of their power utilization and make more informed decisions on how to save on electricity costs,” he said.
At present, FGen has about 1,651 megawatts (MW) of installed RE capacity which includes 28 solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power plants.
It also has 2,017 MW worth of natural gas plants, which offers flexible power generation while supporting the other clean energy sources.
In total, there are 3,668 MW combined capacity that contributes to the country’s RE security goal.
