Motornapping suspect arrested after police chase in Sta. Cruz, Manila

A suspect involved in a motornapping incident was arrested after a police chase along the streets of Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The Manila Police District (MPD) Sta. Cruz Police Station identified the suspect as John Paul Camba, 25, and a member of the notorious Commando Gang which is known for engaging in various criminal activities in Metro Manila.
Police said it was around 1:50 p.m. on Feb. 1 when personnel from the Alvarez Police Community Precinct (PCP) were alerted by a loud cry for help near a drug store along Fugoso Street.
The victim, identified as Micaella Francine Torres, 19, shouted for help as she pointed toward the suspect fleeing on a motorcycle.
With their immediate response, police officers quickly pursued the suspect, who was seen speeding away on a motorcycle.
A short chase ensued before the suspect was cornered and arrested.
Investigation revealed that the motorcycle was taken without the victim's consent.
Authorities recovered the stolen motorcycle and a .38 caliber revolver with three live rounds of ammunition from the suspect.
He remains under police custody and will face charges for violations of the Anti-Carnapping Law and the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act.
