To expedite the resolution of water service issues, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through its Water Resources Management Office (WRMO), has launched the “Wag Pataksaya” hotline.
The initiative seeks to assist the public in addressing water-related concerns by facilitating proper coordination with the appropriate water service provider (WSP), according to the DENR.
The agency said individuals may reach the WRMO via SMS or Viber at 0949-884-8927 or email at wrmo@denr.gov.ph.
To file their concerns, the DENR said the public may fill out the National Water Service Online Form at https://tinyurl.com/wrmohotline, providing their name, complete address, water service provider, and issue or inquiry.
Each submission, according to the agency, will be assigned a tracking number for monitoring the status of the concern.
DENR Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science and concurrent WRMO Chief Dr. Carlos Primo C. David said that the hotline is an automated system designed to efficiently and accurately connect consumers to their respective WSPs.
“This will ensure that concerns reach the right authorities and the appropriate WSP in their area, efficiently, promptly, and accurately,” David said in a statement on Friday, Feb. 28.
As the lead coordinating body of the water sector, he said the WRMO can refer concerns to DENR-attached agencies such as the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for Metro Manila, Water Districts for regional town services, and the National Water Resources Board for private sector WSPs.
“They can send to us any concern, from meter readings to billing issues and water interruptions, and we will follow through with their concerns until these are addressed and resolved,” David emphasized.
He clarified, however, that WRMO does not directly handle water-related issues, provide direct water services, or conduct repairs but will assist in expediting the concerns brought to their office.
