RLC's hotel unit grows with new resorts in key Philippine destinations

Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR), the hospitality business unit of Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), is set to expand further with the construction of new hotels in Pangasinan, Cebu, and Panglao.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, RLC said it will start its expansion in Bohol with the construction of a 200-room beachfront resort in Panglao Island.

The new hotel will be the fourth branch of RHR’s upscale Grand Summit brand and is a 7,737-square meter beachfront development that is set to provide a family-friendly resort. In 2021, RHR launched the first Grand Summit in General Santos City.

Grand Summit Panglao is positioned to be the contemporary resort hotel of choice for local and international travelers seeking unique local experiences.

"We are excited to welcome guests to Grand Summit Panglao to support the booming tourism sector’s call for a quality upscale hotel brand," said RHR Senior Vice President and Business Unit General Manager Barun Jolly.

Based on the Department of Tourism (DOT) data, Panglao had a 122 percent year-on-year increase in overnight travelers in 2023.

With the expansion of Bohol-Panglao International Airport and a significant growth in post-pandemic tourist arrivals, Panglao ranked second in the 2024 Philippine Accommodation Pipeline by Leechiu Property Consultants.

Resort guests can explore the vibrant corals or enjoy a dip in the pool, feast in the Filipino and specialty restaurants, relax in the spa with a traditional massage, work out in a well-equipped gym, or celebrate important milestones in the expansive ballroom.

“With the guests at the center of everything we do, we are committed to bringing the warmth of Filipino hospitality to the shores of Panglao,” said RHR Vice President Annalyn Yap.

She added that, “We are also cognizant of the important role RHR plays in driving employment opportunities and workforce expansion.”

“Our curated hotel development which has an ocean wave-inspired facade ensures that sustainability is one of the important pillars in its design and operations,” noted Barun.
