Malacañang said that the government's position that the country will not cooperate with the investigation of the International Criminal Court (ICC) into the bloody drug war of former president Rodrigo Duterte remains unchanged.

Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said this after Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra challenged the ICC to turn over whatever evidence it has instead of forcing the Philippines to cooperate with its investigation.
In a press briefing, Castro said the Palace respects Guevarra's opinion but remained firm on Malacañang's earlier pronouncements.
"Lumalabas po ng ang sinabi po ni OSG Guevarra ay kaniya lamang po na opinyon (It appears that OSG Guevarra's statement is just an opinion). We have to standby by the statement of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin," she said.
"Nandoon pa rin po ang ating polisiya na wala pong jurisdiction ang ICC sa ngayon (Our policy that the ICC doesn't have jurisdiction over us remains)," she added.
The Palace official, however, reiterated that the Philippines will only comply if the ICC's request is coursed through the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
"Kapag po humingi ng tulong ang Interpol, magku-comply po tayo at tutulong po tayo (If Interpol asked for our help, we will comply)," she said.
"Iyon pa lamang po ang pinakahuling pronouncement ng Palasyo (That's the latest pronouncement from the Palace)," she added.
In November last year, President Marcos said the Philippines remains committed to its obligations to the Interpol.
"We do not cooperate with the ICC. That is the position of this government," he said.
"As [Justice] Secretary [Jesus Crispin] Remulla explained before, we have obligations to Interpol, and we have to live up to those obligations," he added.
