“Buldog, another helpless victim of an Indian target attack in Murcia was left wounded and in pain,” animal welfare non-government organization Bach Project PH posted on its Facebook page on Thursday.

The group said that the senior citizen owner, unable to afford veterinary care, had no choice but to remove the arrow using a hammer.

“Heartbroken, they reached out to us for help,” the group said, which initiated a donation drive for Buldog’s recovery.

The group said that Buldog is currently under the care of Juan Veterinarian-Bacolod, the same clinic where Tiktok, a dog injured by five  dart arrows in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, is confined.

The Murcia Municipal Police Station is probing the two incidents.

Police Major Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, said that they already have persons of interest regarding the incident involving Tiktok but they need a witness for solid evidence to enable them to file criminal charges against them.

Fernandez said that they only have circumstantial evidence. But despite this challenge, he assured that police are exerting efforts to identify the perpetrators.

Investigation said that there are dogs that would enter private properties and cause fear and harm to others.

Police said that such cruelty is not right for  animals and reminded that such incidents should immediately be reported to the barangay or the police before posting on social media to enable authorities to act on these.

Fernandez said that they could get firsthand information if these incidents reach them first  so as not to affect the investigation for probable evidence.

He said that they have reached out to the dog owners for these incidents to be recorded before the barangay and the police.

Despite these two incidents, Fernandez said they do not consider these alarming. He reminded pet owners to be responsible in taking care of their dogs.

Mayor Gerry Rojas has offered P10,000 cash reward to anyone who can identify the perpetrators behind against Tiktok. Bach Project PH also received some donations from private donors.
