Duterte accompanied former Cebu City Mayor Michael “Mike” Rama and his team on Thursday, Feb. 27, to check on the well-being of Cebuanos.
She said that she went on tour with Rama not to campaign but to express her profound gratitude to her supporters in light of ongoing controversies.
Duterte, in a message to Cebuanos, emphasized the importance of being united and making informed decisions to ensure the nation’s progress.
“Let us carefully evaluate the promises made by politicians by examining their past achievements, competences, and leadership skills,” Duterte said.
She said voters should not be swayed by political dynasties or a candidate’s surname. She added that they must objectively evaluate those candidates based on their qualifications.
Duterte thanked the people of Cebu City for their warm and consistent welcome to her and their support to Rama’s team and his entire slate.
“While they are campaigning, I am here to express my gratitude. This is the primary reason behind my visits and engagements – I want to thank them personally,” the Vice President said.
Despite the negativity in politics and the concentrated attacks against her, Duterte said the people’s trust, support, and confidence in her and her office have remained steadfast.
