Man arrested for falsification of diplomas in Manila


A 49-year-old man allegedly behind the making of fake diplomas was arrested in an entrapment operation along Recto Avenue in Manila.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Mario Acantilado, a resident of Caloocan City.

According to the police report, the MPD conducted a successful entrapment operation targeting the proliferation of fake diplomas. 

The operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect who was found in possession of counterfeit documents.

During the operation, fake diplomas and receipts were recovered.

The suspect and the recovered evidence were transported to the MPD-District Intelligence Division for investigation.

Pertinent documents are currently being prepared for filing a criminal complaint against the suspect for violating Article 172 (Falsification of Public Documents) of the Revised Penal Code.
