Grind lang ng grind: MMDA, Pasig gov't launch East Bank Skate Park and Linear Park

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), in partnership with the Pasig City local government, officially opened the East Bank Skate Park plus Linear Park and TODA Terminal on Thursday, Feb. 27, as part of its joint efforts in providing clean and healthy spaces for the public to enjoy.

The launch was attended by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes, Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski, Rep. Roman Romulo, and other city officials.

Located along Manggahan Floodway in Barangay Sta Lucia., the project aims to give a safe and clean space for residents to enjoy and spend time in, promote discipline and order to tricycle drivers and passengers alike through the newly-built TODA terminal, and a skate park for Pasigueño skaters to sharpen their skateboarding skills.

The 3,3179.65 square meters linear park features a cluster mini-pavilion, covered tricycle terminals, skate parks with fencing, public comfort rooms, umbrella shed with seating benches, plant boxes with clustered ornamental plants, clustered benches, and trees benches.

In his speech, Artes said the skate park is also a chance to further promote skateboarding in the country.

 The MMDA will also donate skateboards to Pasigueño skaters.

Meanwhile, Sotto and Romulo expressed their gratitude to Artes and the agency for their swift response in every project for the benefit of Pasigueños and the prosperity of Metro Manila.
