The Valenzuela City government reported a 96 percent decrease in dengue cases in the city, marking a significant improvement compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the City Public Information Office, weekly monitoring data shows a steady decline in dengue cases.
The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) recorded 59 cases from Feb. 9 to 15 and only 13 cases from Feb. 16 to 22, with no reported deaths in the past month.
The city government attributed the decrease to strong citywide and community efforts, particularly through the Department of Health's (DOH) 4S strategy.
This includes intensified Search and Destroy activities across all barangays, with a special focus on the 10 barangays with the highest number of cases.
Meanwhile, the City Health Office (CHO) continues to monitor and evaluate dengue prevention measures to ensure they are effective and responsive to the community's needs.
