Dine, shop, and fly: Clark airport check-in opens at SM City Clark

Passengers departing from Clark International Airport can opt to complete their check-in process at nearby SM City Clark beginning next month.

Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD), the Clark airport operator, said it will open its city check-in facility at the mall on Saturday, March 1.

The alternative hub offers extra convenience by expediting the tedious pre-departure process before passengers even arrive at the airport.

“This initiative is part of our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience at Clark International Airport,” said LIPAD Chief Executive Officer Noel Manankil in a statement.

"Travelers can take advantage of the mall’s dining, shopping, and leisure options before their flight, including picking up last-minute pasalubong (souvenir),” he added.

The city check-in facility at SM City Clark will offer seating for passengers, alongside a baggage repacking station and a weighing scale.

It will also provide passengers with the option to securely store their luggage in the facility’s storage, while they dine or shop before their flight.

The check-in hub is a result of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by key players in the aviation and tourism industries, including SM Supermalls and LIPAD, in April of last year.

"This partnership demonstrates SM Supermalls' commitment to supporting local communities and the travel industry,” said SM Supermalls President Steven Tan.

“By providing this valuable service, we're not only improving the passenger experience but also contributing to the growth and development of Clark,” added Tan.

From SM City Clark, travelers can reach the Clark International Airport via the Clark Loop, a bus rapid transit (BRT) system within Clark.

The mall is highly accessible through point-to-point (P2P) bus services operated by Genesis Transport, with routes from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and Trinoma in Quezon City.
