Aespa, G-Dragon, BIBI, John Park win at 22nd Korean Music Awards


K-pop girl group Aespa, G-Dragon, BIBI and John Park won at the 22nd Korean Music Awards (KMA) held on Feb. 27 in Seoul. 

Unlike other music awards, the KMA, which started in 2004, honors mainstream and indie artists. 

Aespa and singer Lee Seung-yoon won three awards each. Aespa bagged Song of the Year and Best K-pop Song for “Supernova” while their studio album “Armageddon” won Best K-pop Album. 

G-Dragon won Best Rap & Hip Hop Song for “Power” while BIBI received Best Pop Song for "Bam Yang Gang.” John Park won Best Pop Album for “PSST!”

Aespa gave their acceptance speech in a video. 

"We received the Song of the Year award three years ago for 'Next Level,' so we are honored to receive the award again after three years. We will work hard this year as well to repay the love that everyone has sent us,” they said. 

This year’s section committee for the awards included music critics, journalists, editors, and directors.
