Despite trailing by four, 3-7, in the deciding set, the Golden Tigresses went to Poyos and Jurado who orchestrated the final attack that slammed the door on the Lady Spikers.

As expected Poyos and La Salle’s Angel Canino took the center stage as the two top-notch collegiate hitters went back-and-forth to help their respective squads.

It was a semblance of last year's semifinals where UST prevailed over La Salle in a thrilling five-set showdown to earn its ticket to the finals.

The 21-year-old Poyos steered the Tigresses as she pumped in 28 points built on 24 attacks, three blocks and one ace with 16 excellent digs while Jurado contributed 17 points.

Detdet Pepito went all over the floor with 24 excellent digs, 16 excellent receptions and two excellent sets as the España-based team improved to a 2-1 win-loss record.

Powering the Ramil de Jesus-mentored group, Canino dazzled on both ends as she dropped 25 points with 17 excellent digs and 16 excellent receptions while Shevana Laput and Baby Jane Soreno backed her up with 18 and 10 points, respectively.

Their stellar performances, however, couldn’t save La Salle as the Lady Spikers endured their second loss of the season for a 1-2 card, tied with Ateneo and FEU in the standings.
